***Launch of new book delivery / collection service***

Stokenchurch Community Library is delighted to again be able to provide access to physical books, through a modified method of operation. We are now offering a delivery / collection service, using robust non-contact procedures, for Bucks Libraries members living in and around Stokenchurch, Radnage, Lane End and Ibstone.

We are gradually contacting our regular users, but if Stokenchurch is your nearest branch, and you are potentially interested in using this service, you can let us know in one of the following ways: by e-mail (preferred) to enquiries.scl@gmail.com , by leaving a phone message on 07923 427314, or putting a note through our letter box. Please provide your name and a contact phone number (landline if possible) and someone will call you back.

Should you wish to see what items are available, you can use the advanced search facility on the Buckinghamshire Libraries catalogue (follow the links from www.buckinghamshire.gov.uk/libraries/). We are restricted to Stokenchurch stock, so first select Stokenchurch from the Location drop-down menu.

***Extensive e-resources also available***

But with the ability to fully access physical libraries likely to remain restricted for some time to come because of coronavirus, we'd like to make you aware that Bucks Library members can access a very extensive and ever-expanding range of e-resources.

Buckinghamshire have also produced a useful youtube video, within which (from about 2 minutes in) David Jones (Head of Libraries) describes what is available, and also talks more broadly about the situation with the library service: this is at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WI2pNsk7r2E.

Highlights, alongside the extensive range of e-books and e-audiobooks, are: access to 143 magazine titles; Newsreader which gives access to literally thousands of newspaper titles including some archival collections; and various on-line encyclopaedias. In addition (for a time-limited period) access is available from home to the Ancestries family history resource.

You do need to be a Bucks Library member to access these resources, and you will need your card details to log in; but even if you aren’t a member now, you can easily join on-line through a streamlined process.

***Extended loan period and fines amnesty***

Because of the enforced closure of libraries due to coronavirus, all loans have been extended (initially) to 30th June, and an amnesty is in place for any fines accruing due to the closure..
