About Us

Friends of Flackwell Heath Library

In April 2012, Flackwell Heath became one of the first libraries within Bucks to transition to community library status, where services are organised and run by volunteers. In the case of Flackwell Heath, the Community Library is now run by a charity called the "Friends of Flackwell Heath Library" (FFHL).

FFHL is made up of volunteers and other residents who wish to support the village library.  At AGMs, the 'Friends' will vote on the election of the charity’s Trustees who are currently as follows:

Chairman                                                – Michael Russell

Vice Chairman & Charity Liaison/ publicity - Richard Wightman

Secretary                                                – Caroline Edwards

Treasurer                                                – Charles Colton

Schools Liaison                                       - Peggy Simson

We also have other committee members who are not trustees and these are as follows:

Volunteers Co-ordinator                             - Sue Crowden

Be a volunteer
If you would like to join us as a volunteer then please call into the library and talk to one of our volunteers. If you could spare a morning or afternoon occasionally we would be pleased to have you join us.

Join as a 'Friend'
If you would like to help but really do not have the time, you can become a "Friend of Flackwell Heath Library".   This helps us and has benefits for you without taking any of your time.

For just £5 a year a "Friend" gets a discounted ticket to most Library events

Our events are very popular and are often repeated because of demand.

As a "Friend" you are a member of the charity and also able to vote at

our AGM  including the election of our Committee.

Please do consider becoming a FRIEND of the Library
